Wixams Academy Celebrates A-Level Results in 2026: A Year of Achievement and Growth
Wixams Academy is celebrating its best-ever Sixth Form results following the publication of its 2026 A Level and Level 3 outcomes, marking a significant milestone in the academy's journey and reflecting its continued commitment to academic excellence.
The results demonstrate exceptional progress;
- with 48% grades awarded at A*-B (more than doubling the number achieved in 2025)
- while A*-C grades rose from 54% to 82%
This remarkable improvement reflects the hard work and determination of students, supported by high-quality teaching and targeted intervention.
Several subjects delivered particularly impressive results, including Maths, Business Studies, Politics and English Literature all increasing their average grade awarded to B from C, reflecting the strength of teaching aligned with strong student focus and progress. Performance in Level 3 Sport was especially noteworthy, with students achieving an average grade of Distinction+, highlighting the exceptional outcomes being secured across both academic and vocational pathways.
There were also some excellent individual achievements.
- Naima secured A*AA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and will go on to study Pharmacy at King's College London.
- Liam achieved A*A*B in Maths, Business Studies and Further Maths, earning a place at the University of York to study Mathematics.
The majority of students have secured places at their first-choice destinations, including prestigious universities, competitive apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
The academy is especially proud of the achievements of its students in receipt of the 16-19 Bursary, who secured an average grade of B+ and performed above expectations overall. These outcomes highlight the academy's commitment to ensuring that every student, regardless of background, can succeed, with the majority also progressing to their preferred destinations.
The destinations of our students are as follows:
- 78% of students are heading off to university
- 24% of students have secured a place at a Russell Group university
- 21% of students will be taking up apprenticeships, employment or volunteering
Students have secured places at a range of universities, including:
- Kings College London (Pharmacy)
- University of York (History, Mathematics)
- University of Southampton (Biomedical Sciences, Law)
- Loughborough University (Politics and International Relations)
- University of East Anglia (Biomedical Sciences, Economics, Mechanical Engineering)
