2026 GCSE Results
Wixams Academy is pleased to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results for 2026.
This year's cohort has demonstrated resilience, determination and commitment throughout their studies, securing a good set of outcomes across a broad range of subjects. Nearly 70% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics, while almost half secured the higher grade 5 standard in both subjects.
English Language continues to be a particular strength, with 80.4% of students achieving a grade 4 or above and 69.9% achieving a grade 5 or above. Students also performed strongly in History and Geography, reflecting the Academy's commitment to providing an ambitious and knowledge-rich curriculum. This is further demonstrated by an EBacc entry rate of almost 60%.
There were many impressive performances across individual subjects. Following significant investment in staffing and curriculum development over the past two years, Computer Science has been successfully re-established, with students achieving an average grade of 5.75. 80% of students achieved a grade 4 or above, while 73% secured the higher grade 5 standard or above.
Several subjects delivered particularly strong outcomes this year, including Food Technology, Religious Education, English Language, Drama and Music. Students also achieved excellent average grades in the separate sciences, with Biology and Physics both averaging 6.75 and Chemistry averaging 6.5.
A number of students achieved exceptional results in community language qualifications, including outstanding average grades in Polish, Russian and Chinese.
We are proud of the achievements of our students and would like to congratulate them on their hard work and perseverance. These results reflect the dedication of our young people, the support of their families and the commitment of our staff.
We are particularly pleased with the strong outcomes in English Language, the success of our humanities subjects and the excellent progress made in Computer Science following significant curriculum redevelopment. While we continue to focus on improving outcomes in some areas, especially the sciences, there is much to celebrate in this year's results.
We wish all of our Year 11 students every success as they move on to the next stage of their education, training or employment.
